MRG Civil began in 2015 as DRF Contracting — a small, hands-on team focused on landscaping and minor earthworks across the Wellington region. Founded by Marc and Jackson, the company quickly earned a reputation for quality workmanship and reliability, delivering demolition, concrete placement, retaining, fencing, and landscaping with care and consistency.
In late 2024, Rory and Jesse joined the leadership team with a bold vision: to evolve into a full-scope civil construction firm capable of managing complex projects end-to-end. With a sharp eye for detail and a proactive approach to risk, MRG Civil now delivers comprehensive civil works for residential developers — from groundworks to compliance handover.
Today, we’re a medium sized team with two core ground crews and a dedicated management arm. We continue to grow as our systems mature, but we never forget our roots. Whether it’s a large-scale subdivision or a private renovation, every project receives the same precision, pride, and professionalism that define who we are.

Founded DFR while still in the Police. Since leaving the Police he has been heavily involved in residential development in the Wellington Area. Nowadays he spends a bit less time on the tools and a lot more time on his phone.

Jesse started with MRG Property as a Civils Project Manager and now runs a hybrid role between MRG Property and Civil. With vast expertise across drainage and civil works, he brings ruthless efficiency and organisation to the team.

Jackson has been with DFR since the early days. Now with MRG Civil, he manages and supports the ground teams in all technical and logistical matters. From machine operating, underground infrastructure, finishing concrete, and anything in-between.
Calum has been with us since 2020. The day before the covid lockdowns. Whether is it managing his own jobs or supporting bigger projects, Calum is always looking ahead to what is next to keep our teams running smoothly.

Kane joined us in 2022. He will pick up any job and drive it. Spending more time in the drainage team lately Kane is still just as comfortable on a machine making the first site cut of a development as he is completing the final touches to a landscaping project.
